Still hope for Yakuza: Kenzan to head west

Time for more reporting on niche Japanese games that appeal to me and about two other people; Yakuza spin-off Yakuza: Kenzan could follow both Yakuza 3 and in coming to the west. Kenzan was actually the first Yakuza game to grace the PS3 in 2008, taking the story back to 1600s Japan. You play as a samuri, making it easily the most awesome game of all time already.
A SEGA community rep has posted on NeoGAF, speaking about the possibility of the spin-off heading west: “The only potential problem I personally see with Kenzan is that it takes an already niche audience here in the states and may break it down even more.”
“But there’s something to be said about other popular Samurai games, even though gameplay wise,Kenzan is still very much a Yakuza title.” It’s far from confirmation of the game making the move, but hopefully these whispers will get things rolling.
Yakuza 4 is going to hit this week. Hopefully news of Kenzan, Yakuza Of The End, and Yakuza PSP will soon follow.
